Who makes a career in Hungary nowadays? To answer this
complicated question we must define the term “career” or in other words the term
“getting to the top”. Career, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is a way of making a
living, but in contemporary Hungary this word means the ability to make a lot of
good money easily and very quickly. How can you make a lot of money rapidly and
without effort? You can if you use the services of the Hungarian Mail. First and
foremost you have to write a polite letter to Mr. George Soros and ask him a favor
to appoint you as the general heir-at-law of his huge fortune. A second letter for
safety’ s sake you may write to His Majesty Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the King of Saudi
Arabia and in it you should pop the question to any of his daughters. Thirdly you
can fill in a lottery ticket with your favorite numbers. If you haven’t got any favorable
results at all after two months, you know Hungarian Post hasn't been working
acceptably recently, and I’m afraid you had better try another solution.
You have to choose the right job to make big money easily and quickly. If you are
brave and have enough initiative, bank robbery or embezzlement are the suitable
lines of business for you. You can establish building societies for pensioners as
well, it is basically the same line of work. Unfortunately in these walks of life there
are some risks and if you succeed at the first attempt you will continue your efforts
until you fail even once. It’s the essence of this occupation. You might obtain a considerable
sum from robbery or embezzlement without any risks if you work as a highly skilled
banking professional and take part in the laundering of dirty money or you defend
mafia suspects or corrupt public servants on trial as their solicitor. These
professions are highly paid ones but they are a little tiring. Anyway to be a lawyer or
financial expert you have to have the necessary qualifications which require a
university degree and several years’ practice in your profession.
I think there’s nothing left but taking part in a reality show or starting a job like it.
Reality shows are open only to young people whereas the job suggest is open to
everybody without respect to gender, race, age, faith or qualifications. The only
requirements are: maximum adaptability, poker face and the ability to pretend.
What I recommend you is a white collar job without risk or effort. I’ll tell you its
conditions and then you can decide whether it is your way of life or not. The salary
is high enough to live comfortably – you can draw a gross salary of approximately
half million Forints a month. You may get extra fringe benefits, for instance, use of
telephone, car and flat free of charge, bonuses like travelling abroad with defrayal
of expenses and travel allowance, duty free shopping, taking part in official diners
and parties and receiving presents.
